Class and Group

An initial discussion is necessary to introduce the method and also determine the topic, theme or direction of the research. The teacher gives the basic outline of what will be done, and then the group proceeds to discuss the possible topics. Then various ways to approach it are advanced and the group decides on whether they will all take one approach or several different ones.

Later, after the first photos have been taken, the group will have to decide which photo or photos can best be used for the project. Then, the group (or small groups) will discuss which photos work and what might still need to be taken.

Once a good selection of photos has been taken and edited down to the essential ones the group will then discuss what evidence the photos present and how to write about it. This is a critique and a discussion.

Finally, at the end will be a last critique of the results and self-evaluations. There can also be evaluations of the working methods and dynamics of the research group.

There is also a rubric available for evaluation of individuals and groups.

Then, the individuals will discuss which photos work and what might still need to be taken. Some individual consultation with the teacher and/or the group may be necessary to aid in editing photos or accompanying text.

Once a good selection of photos has been taken and edited down to the essential ones the group will then discuss what evidence the photos present and how to write about it. This is a critique and a discussion. The individual may also want to consult about their specific concerns with the teacher or group.

Finally, at the end will be a last critique of the results and a self-evaluation of working methods. There can also be evaluations of the working methods and dynamics of the research group.
